While New Orleans may be the biggest city in Louisiana, you may be surprised at how much smaller communities are nearby. Many people who are from New Orleans and have homes in New Orleans consider Shrevee to be part of Louisiana even though it’s only a short drive. The best things to do in Shrevee include enjoying all of the sights that make New Orleans famous, like the river and its many petrochemical plants.

When you travel to Louisiana, you’ll find plenty of southern charm in the area as well. Creole cuisine mixes French and African styles of cooking. Creole food takes it’s roots from French and Spanish recipes and combines them with African and Chadian ingredients. A true Creole recipe usually calls for black beans, onions, celery, potatoes and broth. Other ingredients can include shrimp, crawfish, okra, greens and more.

Cajun food takes it’s roots from Cajun and oral traditions of the Acadians who first settled the Acadiana area. Some of the popular dishes include Jambalaya, which is a dish that originates from Cajun cooking, and Catfish gumbo. A Cajun recipe is a true gastronomic delight. New Orleans also has some really fun things to do on the Big Easy. It’s a great place to take your family on a road trip.

The Mississippi Gulf coast is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the southern United States. Some of the best attractions of the area include historic St. Landry’s Island National Maritime Park and the Mississippi Gulf coast museum. If you’re looking for a place to stay while you’re in New Orleans, you’ll want to check out the many different hotels in New Orleans. You can find them all in the New Orleans area, but some are a bit farther away. As with anything else, you will get what you pay for in terms of quality. The hotels that are closest to the French Quarter are the cheapest. They do provide a nice amount of room service and include free parking, but the quality is not up to par with other hotels in New Orleans. Those who want the most amenities and the best overall value will stay a bit further away and consider a mid-range hotel or serviced condo instead.
